NEW JERSEY · PUBLIC-RECORD READING GUIDE

An OSHA search result needs context.

Match the establishment and inspection before interpreting citations, penalties or case status.

Official search-help text retrieved October 26, 2026; direct page access was restricted in this review. No company inspection or penalty is asserted in this guide.

The starting point

OSHA’s industry-search help says its inspection database is updated daily and open cases can change. Citation information can also appear after a delay. An incomplete search is not proof that no record exists. A proposed penalty must not be described as a final amount without checking the case record.

For the staffing agency

Ask which establishment and inspection the information concerns; do not infer an agency’s involvement from a client name alone.

For the employer / client

Review the underlying inspection details, current status and any later disposition before drawing conclusions.

Suggested operational next steps

  1. Match name, address and inspection number.
  2. Record retrieval date, citation and penalty status.
  3. Recheck updates before reusing the story.
